Hiran Cooray, Chairman, PATA, is confident that the PATA Mart to be organised in New Delhi in September, will be a grand success.

He told TRAVTALK during the PATA anniversary and conference in Beijing that after the success of the China event, he was sure that the New Delhi event, too will be highly successful.

"India has had a very active record with PATA. Earlier also, the Hyderabad mart was praised by one and all," he recalled. Both India and China are in the limelight now, as part of the emerging new world order.

Giving details of the mart preparations, Cooray said that Sheila Leong, the Deputy CEO and Events in charge, has been in touch with the Indian travel trade and officials. "She has also been making trips to India to ensure the organisation of a good show," he added.

According to PATA Chairman, "The system of buyers' selection was being streamlined while the sellers would be expected to give a report on the mart to ensure quality and commitment."

He noted that theHyderabad event had gone 'exceptionally well' and hoped that the New Delhi Mart in September will help boost the image of PATA, leading to more people and organisations joining the association.

The added colour and culture, for which India is well known, will be an added attraction of the PATA Mart in Delhi, said the Sri Lankan, who is a leading industry leader and hotelier of his country.
